Applicants who meet the program's eligibility requirements and objectives will be invited to the first round of interviews at HAESF's office in Budapest, Hungary. The interviews will be conducted in English, with at least two HAESF representatives. This interview serves multiple purposes: assess the candidate's communication skills and English language ability and learn more about the candidate's professional goals and interests.
Step 2: Round 2
After the first round of interviews, applicants will be notified by e-mail as to whether or not they will be invited to a second interview. In the event that the applicant is successful in the first round of interviews, he/she should be prepared to submit the following:
- 3 Letters of Reference (2 academic, 1 professional/experiential) written on official letterhead in English (or translated into English). Referees' contact information, including telephone, fax, e-mail and mailing address, must be clearly printed on all letters. The letters should address the following points:
- Nature of relationship with applicant

- Proof of English language proficiency (for non-native English speakers). Please submit one of the following:
- TOEFL: (minimum score of 600 on the old paper based exam or minimum score of 250 on the new computer based exam or minimum score of 83 on the new internet based exam) OR
- State proficiency exam of English language (advanced level) and its certified English translation. For a complete list of state recognized exams, please visit www.nyak.hu.
Please note, prior to or shortly after every application deadline, HAESF provides applicants who fulfill all other HAESF eligibility requirements but do not have a state recognized advanced language exam with the opportunity to take an institutional TOEFL exam. - An entire university transcript (index) translated into English by the applicant and certified by university

The second interview will be conducted with the HAESF Placement Manager from the US and a HAESF representative. The objective of the second meeting is to further discuss the candidate's career aspirations, assess his/her professional and personal preparedness, learn more about the candidate's training focus and broader perspective on the chosen industry, and gather information that will be helpful for the internship placement.

The HAESF office in Budapest will provide assistance should Interns have any questions or concerns prior to departure.
