Who can apply?
The program is open to mid-level and senior-level Hungarian professionals in business, public administration, non-profit organizations and academia. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. degree, or have at least five years professional experience, or significant relevant experience.
Senior Fellows are responsible for independently establishing contacts, securing a host organization and developing and submitting project proposals, implementation plans, and formulating a budget proposal.
- Applicants must be Hungarian citizens with permanent residency in Hungary.
- Applicants must not have been physically present in the United States as a nonimmigrant on a J-1 visa for all or part of the twelve month period immediately preceding the date of program commencement unless
A. The applicant's presence in the United States was of less than six months duration; or
B. The applicant's presence in the United States was pursuant to a Short-term scholar exchange activity
- Level of English must be sufficient to perform in a native English-speaking work environment.
- Relatives and immediate family members of HAESF employees, the HAESF Advisory Board, and the HAESF and HAEF Boards are not eligible to apply.
